Racial jokes make 'news' in America
breitbart.com
As Barack Obama closes in on his bid to become the first African-American US president, racial politics have burst into mainstream media with the release this month of two "news" shows anchored by black comedians.
--- excerpt ----
But not everyone was a fan.

A writer on the blog blackpoliticalthought.com called it "an offensive show that perpetuates the negative stereotypes that have dogged blacks in this country for too long."

The blogger criticized Hughley's comments that an Obama health care plan would provide "grills," or metal teeth caps for all, and the appearance of a guest dressed as a pimp who said "politicians are pimps and the electorate are their ho's (whores)."

Found in a rundown Boston estate: Barack Obama’s aunt Zeituni Onyango

The Times
Barack Obama has lived one version of the American Dream that has taken him to the steps of the White House. But a few miles from where the Democratic presidential candidate studied at Harvard, his Kenyan aunt and uncle, immigrants living in modest circumstances in Boston, have a contrasting American story.
Zeituni Onyango, the aunt so affectionately described in Mr Obama’s best-selling memoir Dreams from My Father, lives in a disabled-access flat on a rundown public housing estate in South Boston.

Obama Accepting Untraceable Donations
By Matthew Mosk
Washington Post Staff Writer

Excerpt
Sen. Barack Obama's presidential campaign is allowing donors to use largely untraceable prepaid credit cards that could potentially be used to evade limits on how much an individual is legally allowed to give or to mask a contributor's identity, campaign officials confirmed.

Faced with a huge influx of donations over the Internet, the campaign has also chosen not to use basic security measures to prevent potentially illegal or anonymous contributions from flowing into its accounts, aides acknowledged. Instead, the campaign is scrutinizing its books for improper donations after the money has been deposited.

The Obama organization said its extensive review has ensured that the campaign has refunded any improper contributions, and noted that Federal Election Commission rules do not require front-end screening of donations.

In recent weeks, questionable contributions have created headaches for Obama's accounting team as it has tried to explain why campaign finance filings have included itemized donations from individuals using fake names, such as Es Esh or Doodad Pro. Those revelations prompted conservative bloggers to further test Obama's finance vetting by giving money using the kind of prepaid cards that can be bought at a drugstore and cannot be traced to a donor.

Obama Affinity to Marxists Dates Back to College Days

By Bill Sammon
FOXNews.com
Excerpt
Barack Obama laughs off charges of socialism. Joe Biden scoffs at references to Marxism. Both men shrug off accusations of liberalism.

But Obama himself acknowledges that he was drawn to socialists and even Marxists as a college student. He continued to associate with Marxists later in life, even choosing to launch his political career in the living room of a self-described Marxist, William Ayers, in 1995, when Obama was 34.

Obama's affinity for Marxists began when he attended Occidental College in Los Angeles.

"To avoid being mistaken for a sellout, I chose my friends carefully," the Democratic presidential candidate wrote in his memoir, "Dreams From My Father." "The more politically active black students. The foreign students. The Chicanos. The Marxist professors and structural feminists."

Obama's interest in leftist politics continued after he transferred to Columbia University in New York. He lived on Manhattan's Upper East Side, venturing to the East Village for what he called "the socialist conferences I sometimes attended at Cooper Union."

The Bourbon Intellect

Demographics of American liberals
Liberals commonly tend to be highly educated and relatively affluent. According to recent surveys, between 19% and 26% of the American electorate identify as liberal.
The functional subtype ccounts for about 19% of U.S. alcoholics. They're generally middle-aged, working adults who tend to have stable relationships, more education, and higher incomes than other alcoholics. They tend to drink every other day, often consuming five or more drinks on drinking days.
Wives of Alcoholics More Likely to Drink
Women who are married to alcoholics are three times more likely to abuse alcohol themselves and three times more likely to work outside the home, compared to wives of non-alcoholics, according to new research.

White people shouldn't be allowed to vote

It's for the good of the country and for those who're bitter for a reason and armed because they're scared.

As a lifelong Caucasian,( and full time idiot ) I am beginning to think the time has finally come to take the right to vote away from white people, at least until we come to our senses. Seriously, I just don't think we can be trusted to exercise it responsibly anymore.

I give you Exhibit A: The last eight years.

In 2000, Bush-Cheney stole the election, got us attacked, and then got us into two no-exit wars. Four years later, white people reelected them. Is not the repetition of the same behavior over and over again with the expectation of a different outcome the very definition of insanity? (It is, I looked it up.)

-- excerpt --

That's why this ban on white people voting I'm proposing has got to be statewide. And I'm sorry to say, it's going to have to include all white people, even those who would vote for Obama, because you can't just let some white people vote. That would be unfair.

By this point, you either think I am joking or are calling me an elitist. I assure you I am neither. OK, maybe a little of both. But it wasn't always like this. I come from the Coal Belt, ( playing violins ) from that Alabamian hinterland between Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, as per James Carville's famous formulation.

Russian observers to monitor U. S. vote
Peter Goodspeed
National Post

The mission, headed by Audrey Glover, the top British diplomat, includes a core of 13 international experts from the OSCE's office in Washington and 48 international observers who will be deployed in teams of two around the country.

In addition to visiting polling stations on Nov. 4, they will study the election campaign, media coverage and issues of voter registration, identification and voters rights.
------      -------
A preliminary report prepared by the group, after studying U. S. media coverage on the NBC, CBS and ABC television networks since September, has concluded Barack Obama, the Democratic presidential candidate, has a "hidden advantage."

A preliminary report obtained by the Russian daily online newspaper Kommersant concludes the U. S. television networks devoted more time to Republican candidate John McCain, but "the material that makes up that time difference can be assessed as negative."

The Russian study also said Sarah Palin, the Republican vice-presidential pick, has been subjected to more criticism than her Democratic counterpart, Senator Joe Biden.

Darcy Burner's claims of a Harvard econ degree an exaggeration
Emily Heffter
Seattle Times

Excerpt:
In recent weeks, Democratic congressional candidate Darcy Burner has touted her Harvard degree in economics when talking about the nation's financial crisis and her opposition to the bailout package passed by Congress.

At two debates this month, she brought up her academic background in her opening statement.

"I loved economics so much that I got a degree in it from Harvard," she said at an Oct. 10 debate at KCTS-TV. "Now everywhere I go in this district, the only thing people want to talk to me about is the economy."

But while she took courses in economics, Burner doesn't have a degree in the subject from Harvard.
I saw this bimbo's campaign ad on T.V. several weeks ago. It really played up her "Harvard" degree and came off quite snobby and condescending. It was jsut a few days ago when the truth came out and what a shocker that was.

So, has anything changed since that time?

I went on and did a little search on the net and it seems Burner has done very little to clear up this "exaggeration".   Her bio at the Daily Kos' Dkosopedia tap dances around the idea of her being a Harvard grad without really saying it.  To her credit, Burner's own website describes her as "a self-made woman".   At least she's got that right.  Still though, I have to wonder why anyone running for public office would make up a story like that?

DRILL BABY, DRILL! FOR McCAIN / PALIN T-SHIRT

You can spend your time piping polluting petroleum in protected public parks, peddling pro-life propaganda for unplanned pregnancies, and putting lipstick on pigs, polar bears, and police state politics. We'll continue to provide poignant parodies of your party's predictable platforms and pathetic public policies

Nothing says "hip and cool" like a piece of vulgarity.  I'm sure this will go well with that other t-shirt on Palin.

To be "Fair and Balanced", I've looked all over the net and this was the worst t-shirt I could find on Obama.

This Curious George Obama t-shirt created a huge outrage when it first appeared.   But why does this get people upset when that very same theme was applied to George Bush?

For eight years the internet was flooded with sites that had images of the president pasted next to a chimp. The left saw no problem with equating Bush to a monkey but apply that to Obama and you have racism stamped on your forehead.

Now before you go but, but, but, I'm well aware of the history of African Americans and the lables of old stereo types.  So why then would the left want to use that? If being a monkey is equal to being primitive or simple minded and it's been used to describe a person of color, why then use the term at all?  What's the real underlining message?  Are they saying Bush is simple minded like African Americans?   Isn't that racist?

Getting back to the McCain/Palin t-shirts.  Liberals have always tried to champion women's issues.  From the pro-abortion stance to equality in the work place and in society.  So why would they promote a t-shirt that would demean a woman?

Or are woman just suppose to go along with this because it attacks conservatives?

I guess this same rule applies to African Americans as well.  You can use racist terms as long as it's against conservatives.  Michael Steele knows that all too well.  In 2005 he ran for the U.S. Senate and found himself under attack by Black Democrat leaders.
Black Democratic leaders in Maryland say that racially tinged attacks against Lt. Gov. Michael S. Steele in his bid for the U.S. Senate are fair because he is a conservative Republican.

Alveda King, Niece of Martin Luther King Jr, endorses McCain-Palin

Black Leaders Support McCain
"I am very excited about the McCain-Palin ticket, simply because they support the values that mean the most to me," Ms. King said. "It is a plus to me that Sarah Palin is a woman because I've been elected to office as a wife and mother. I've been appointed to office as a woman and at the time I was a mother and became a grandmother."

Ms. King said her experience taught her she could both be a good mother and still serve the public. This is something she has in common with Gov. Sarah Palin, R-Alaska, McCain's running mate.

However, the most important reason she is backing the McCain-Palin ticket is its commitment to the pro-life cause.

God bless you Dr. Alveda King.
There's an interesting video related to this.

Behar's Greatest Hits

Joy-less Blowhard

She suggests that only whites can be racist.   That the reason there are no more saints today is do to the invention of psychotropic medicines.  Republicans attend Klan meetings and said that Sean Hannity is "the most dangerous force in T.V."  And if that weren't enough, today she called Rush Limbaugh is a terrorist.

Rush Limbaugh a terrorist?  Cute.  This coming from a woman who doesn't think there's anything  wrong with William Ayers.

But what could you expect from a person who has double standards?   So blinded by her own hate that she can sit in front of the cameras, sour puss face included, and admit that very point and seeing nothing wrong with it.

What's striking is the fact that she's a comedian.  A person who entertains by playing the clown or the fool for laughs.

So why does that make her qualified to comment on politics?

Oh, that's right, she's on "The View."  She has a "view" of politics.  She doesn't have to be right, she just has to have a "view" which is nothing more than a feeling.  Throw out reason and substance.  Make way for personal feelings because that's what really matters.  It's hip and cool and people respond to that.

Is it any wonder why Obama is doing well in the polls?

Are there any honest reporters left in the MSM?

Would the Last Honest Reporter Please Turn On the Lights?

Editor's note: Orson Scott Card is a Democrat and a newspaper columnist, and in this opinion piece he takes on both while lamenting the current state of journalism.  An open letter to the local daily paper — almost every local daily paper in America:

I remember reading All the President's Men and thinking: That's journalism. You do what it takes to get the truth and you lay it before the public, because the public has a right to know.
--- snip ---
If you do not tell the truth about the Democrats — including Barack Obama — and do so with the same energy you would use if the miscreants were Republicans — then you are not journalists by any standard.
Now wouldn't it be refreshing to see reporters actually reporting the news instead of making it up?  The New York Times is unrelenting when it comes to fabricating the news and launching smear jobs against conservatives.  It's sister NBC is so in the tank for Obama that it should just replace it's peacock logo with the democrat's ass.

Paula Poundstone.  A comedian turned political commentator has made her appearance on a disgusting left-wing political site, 236.com, after a seven year absence from the public eye.  She fits right in with the rest of the miscreants there, adding her hit piece on Bush, no doubt pleasing the Obamabots who read it.

It is a story which crystalises the dubious values encouraged by the British welfare state.

Harry Crompton, 50, has been out of work for 15 years and his wife Tracey, 40, has never had a job. Yet thanks to the generosity of the welfare state they receive £32,656 a year.

The Cromptons have been nicknamed 'Britain's Biggest Freeloaders' by their neighbours in Hull.
They receive a further £628 a week in income support, disability allowance, carer's allowance, child tax credit, plus £120 a week rent on their seven-bedroom house.

Obama and socialism

New Party: October 1996 Update : Running to Win : The Key Races

( excerpts below )
Illinois: Three NP-members won Democratic primaries last Spring and face off against Republican opponents on election day: Danny Davis (U.S. House), Barack Obama (State Senate) and Patricia Martin (Cook County Judiciary).
The Power of Public Education
My early years of activity in the democratic socialist movement were spent here in Chicago. They made a deep impact and lie at the heart of my way of thinking as a teacher. There are two quotes from Eugene V. Debs that sum up my educational philosophy. I'd like to speak tonight about both. Together they are my credo. I'll begin with the one then later pick up the second.

I would not lead you to the promised land, said Debs, because if I could lead you there, another could lead you back again.

I believed this before I began to teach, and it took time for me to see how it applied to teaching. It lies behind good union or community organizing, after all: don't do for others what they can do for themselves. All other forms of education lead to loss of power; this form alone leads to lifelong power.
New Party Update
The Chicago New Party is increasely becoming a viable political organization that can make a different in Chicago politics. It is crucial for a political organization to have a solid infrastructure and visible results in its political program. The New Party has continued to solidify this base.

First, in relation to its infrastructure, the NP's membership has increased since January '95 from 225 to 440. National membership has increased from 5700 in December '95 to 7000. Currently the NP's fiscal balance is $7,000 and receives an average of $450/month is sustainer donations.

Secondly, the NP's '96 Political Program has been enormously successful with 3 of 4 endorsed candidates winning electoral primaries. All four candidates attended the NP membership meeting on April 11th to express their gratitude. Danny Davis, winner in the 7th Congressional District, invited NPers to join his Campaign Steering Committee. Patricia Martin, who won the race for Judge in 7th Subcircuit Court, explained that due to the NP she was able to network and get experienced advice from progressives like Davis.
Barack Obama, victor in the 13th State Senate District, encouraged NPers to join in his task forces on Voter Education and Voter Registration. The lone loser was Willie Delgado, in the 3rd Illinois House District. Although Delgado received 45% of the vote, he lost by only 800 votes. Delgado commented that it was due to the NP volunteers that he carried the 32nd Ward. Delgado emphasized that he will remain a visible community activist in Humbolt Park. He will conduct four Immigration workshops and encouraged NP activists to get involved.

Another democrat caught with his pants down

Rep. Mahoney admits affairs, says he broke no laws
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. -- U.S. Rep. Tim Mahoney, embroiled in an adultery scandal and a tight race for re-election, admitted Friday to having at least two affairs but insisted he broke no laws and will not resign. The first-term Democrat conceded that one of the affairs began as he was running on a family values platform to replace Mark Foley, a Republican who resigned amid revelations that he sent lurid Internet messages to male pages who had worked on Capitol Hill as teenagers.

Mahoney, 52, apologized to his wife, his daughter and his constituents, even as he maintained he hadn't been hypocritical.
The man confessed to "multiple" other affairs but won't stand down. Simply stunning. Foley was hammered for e-mailing a few interns. The democrats played that scandal up for weeks and labeled him part of the republican "culture of corruption" in Washington.

Standing Up Against Giants

Feeling Plumber Fatigue, Media Turn on 'Joe'
Two nights ago, "Joe the Plumber" was a symbol of the American dream. By Friday morning, you would have thought he was convicted lobbyist Jack Abramoff.

What I find amazing is that this was just an average man who had the audacity to ask the great Obama a question about his tax policy.  Now the media and left wing blogs are attacking him.  They are digging up his past and calling him every name in the book, "racist republican" being their favorite.  All this just because Joe dared to ask "The One" a question.
How freighting is that?   To ask a politician a question and then to be taken down by the media and other fanatics for doing that.  There's something seriously wrong with society when it allows something like that to occur.  I'm sure the Chinese were taking notes.
And where's the racism part?  I didn't know that asking a politician a question would make one a racist?  From what I'm reading in the papers of late, it seems that the racism comes from the democrat's side.
Another argument coming from the left is that Joe isn't who he says he really is.   He's not a real plumber or he'd not rich.  That's not the point.
It doesn't matter if Joe doesn't make a quarter million a year or that he doesn't have a license.  Why should that matter?  Do we now need a resume before asking our political leaders a question?
And why would that question be so unnerving to the  Obama camp anyways?   Maybe it was the fact that Obama was caught using the term, "spreading the wealth".  It's a term used by communists but actually never materializes when practice by commies.  If we look at Russia today we can plainly see that it's no Utopia.  Nor is Cuba for that matter.  It's the political power that have the money and privileges.  Sure, some of that has " trickled down" to the people below but it hasn't by any means been a "spreading of the wealth" over there.  There are poor and homeless people just like American, if you can imagine that.  So why would Obama use such a term like "spreading the wealth" if  it hasn't worked in communist countries?   What is it about communism that's so appealing to the left when it's been shown to be a failure?
Or maybe it's not a total failure.  Maybe it's only a failure to the common man but not to those who seek power?  What the commies have failed by not bringing the world it's version of utopia, it surely has made up for by producing some of the greatest tyrants ever and a drone army of political foot soldiers.
We've seen some of those soldiers as college professors, writers, news commentators in the big media and the talking heads of the Democratic party. And this willing drone army in the media and democratic party sees to it that anyone that questions their motives will be taken out.
Empty political promises and talk of "spreading the wealth" is nothing more than a song to sway the masses into giving the anointed few the power to control.  Joe the plumber and people like him who stand up against these giants will be crushed under the weight of big media.  They will try and steam roll over him and use him as an example.

Paying their fair share.

Their Fair Share
I've never understood the mantra that the rich must pay their fair share.  What's fair about taxes?  And why are the rich labeled unfair for paying 40% of the nations taxes when they are only 1% of the population?

What I also don't understand is why do so many people want to take money from individuals and feed it to this monster called government?  If I look at a news paper at any given time or watch the local news channel there are always stories of government waist or mishandling of funds.   A most common theme in the papers is how the government takes the tax payers money and then gives it to failing company to keep them going long enough to suck more tax payer funds out at a later date.

Why can't we just say no to taxes?  Let dying companies die off and let the tax payer out of free will give money to charitable organizations in need instead of being forced to give to the government so they can bungle it up.

Enraged Leftwing Blogosphere Hurls Attacks Against Joe the Plumber

(Excerpt)

Joe the Plumber (Joe Wurzelbacher) seems to have committed a Thought Crime in the eyes of the leftwing Blogosphere by daring to question the Lightworker. As a result, and because his name was brought up several times by John McCain at the debate last night, Joe the Plumber has been the subject of a lot of rage at both the Democratic Underground and the Daily Kos. The title of the DU thread alone tells you just how angry the left is: "Hey, Joe 'The Dumbass' Plumber. Listen up!" And the Daily Kos thread is flat out incorrect: "'Joe the Plumber'" Not a Registered Voter." Sorry, Kossacks, but Joe the Plumber is registered to vote. He just prefers to use his middle name but you were too eager to smear him to consider that fact when poring through the Ohio voting records. Here is a sampling of leftwing anger directed at Joe the Plumber starting with the Democratic Underground:
So, J
oe the Plumber. If you are too damned stupid to understand how Obama benefits you much more than McCain, then throw the American dream away and vote for McCain.

Sorry, I know this is stereotyping but he looks jackbootish to me...

Have we found out yet that McCain paid this goof to ask Obama about his taxes? If so, I missed it so far. If not, I would not be surprised if we hear about that shortly.

Joe the Plumber was a republican plant. OBVIOUS. Cameras ready. Gotcha moment. Then use in debate. Toss "joe" (wow, another Joe, how curious) on the day after morning shows. Nearly perfect ....... but too obvious. Joe listens to way too much talk radio. Too many rw talking points.

Microsoft Sucks

Confirmed: Microsoft Gives Up On MSN Groups, Hands It Off To Multiply

MSN had one of the coolest things going for them and that was the MSN Groups.   The format was fun to use, clutter free, easy on the eyes and was unique in the world of internet groups.  It offered a wide variety of topics to choose from and gave the owners of the groups the opportunity to be really creative with their sites.  But now the plug is being pulled.  Another great idea being tossed into the dumpster.  MSN says the volume of people using the groups has steadily gone down.  What they don't tell you is that they made it virtually impossible to find the groups if you've never been there before.

For the last few years they have slowly drained the groups by taking away it's easy access from the main page and not allowing groups to invite new members.  They've also taken away the groups chat rooms which was given to them after MSN started charging people to go to the main chat rooms.  A huge fumble on their part and that just seemed to be a on going pattern with MSN.  Create something cool, fuck with it then destroy it.

There are so many questions as to why MSN would do something to like that and lose many of it's loyal members.  One rumor I've heard said that they wanted to migrate to Windows Live and that the operating system was incompatible with the old MSN Groups.  I've talked with a few members of the MSN Groups who said they've tried Windows Live Beta version last year and said it wasn't anything special.  It's format was like that of Facebook, MySpace and other personal blog sites and since they had the choice to move back they did.

It's curious that a company would abandon something so unique like MSN Group format for a dime a dozen format like Facebook or MySpace.   It's safe to say that when MySpace came out it was a hit.  It's popularity has taken over the net turned fun groups into personal blogs and vanity pages.  No longer are there fifty different topics to chose from.  Now you are limited to small a few small postings at a time and the creativity of the poster is reduced to just text.

For the life of me I'll never understand this need to conform.  MSN had a good community going and if they'd have let them continued it would have thrived.  It makes sense for teens and young adults to go to a MySpace type pages because the youth are narcissistic in nature and never pass up a chance to self promote.  MSN could have had that site for them and left the others alone.

I guess it doesn't matter anymore for the deed is done and it's time to move on.  One thing I'm taking away from this is that I'm finished with Microsoft.

"Bush is to the left of me now," Chavez.

Pumpkin head actually gets it right this time.   God help us.

Today I found out MSN is closing their groups.  I knew this was coming but still I'm sad to see it happen.  MSN was know for it's constant break downs and white pages but their format was cool.

Now I've had to find a new home.  We'll see if this lasts...
